Soul-Rebel Marley Drops Debut Single "Loving Jah"
- Bryan Mendoza
Soul-Rebel Marley steps into the reggae world with his debut single, Loving Jah, out today through his own Tek Time Productions and his family's legendary Tuff Gong International. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Bob Marley, Soul-Rebel blends modern sounds with reggae's timeless messages of love, freedom, and unity.
The song came to life during a studio session with his Grammy-winning brother, Skip Marley, when the line "Hail up the King of Kings/We forever loving Jah" popped into his head. He quickly recorded it as a voice note, and what started as a simple idea grew into a fully realized track. Inspired by Bob Marley's Forever Loving Jah, the song builds on reggae's roots with soaring crescendos, crisp snares, and ethereal vocal layers, featuring harmonies from his Grammy-winning mother, Cedella Marley. The result is a fresh, uplifting blend of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop.
Music has been Soul-Rebel's world for as long as he can remember. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, he started playing piano at six and has produced tracks for his cousin, Jo Mersa Marley, and his aunt, Sharon Marley. The official lyric video for Loving Jah places him in front of Ethiopia's breathtaking Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela, a fitting visual for the song's spiritual essence.
